Import users

To import information related to a list of users, select "Users management" from main menu and click on the "Import / Export users" link from the top left corner. The following window displays:import_exportUsers

 

By clicking on "Browse..." it is possible to browse the local PC to find the file in .csv format about the data to be imported. The file should contain the information separated by a semicolon.

When selecting users enrollment to course or users roles assignment, in the field "User Identifier" it is possible to refer to the users by the eXact LCMS username (select Nickname) or by using an external ID (i.e when users are imported from external system).

Please note: to avoid possible errors caused by the network connection, it is suggested to upload maximum 2000 users per file.

 

User personal information

By selecting "User personal information" and "Browse", it is possible to upload a file containing the information about users to import in the platform.

 

The order of the information is customizable, the default format is the following:

Login username;Last name;First name;eMail;Date of birth(yyyy-mm-dd);Gender (male=0 female=1 not specified=-1);Language (en-US or it-IT);Street;Town;Postal code;Region;Country;Password (at least 5 characters, if the password encryption is enable this filed will be empty)

The following is an example of how a single line of the csv file looks like:

user1;Surname;Name;mail@exact-learning.com;2011-12-30;-1;en-US;;;;;;password

 

To create a properly formatted .csv file, it is also possible to use the "Export users" option (see below) and use the exported file as reference template.

 

The "Choose file" window will then open:

choose_file_pc

Browse to the required file (with .csv extension), click on "Open" and then on "Upload". The file will be imported on the platform.

 

User enrollment to courses

"User enrollment to courses" is used to upload a file containing the information about users (must be an existing user) to associate to a course (must be an existing course).

 

The order of the information is customizable, the default format is the following:

Login username;Course Code;Action (1 enroll 2=unenrol 0= no action).

The following is an example of how a single line of the csv file looks like:

user1;Course1;1

 

Delete user

By selecting "Delete user" and "Browse", it is possible to upload a file containing the information about the users to delete from the platform (must be existing users)

 

The order of the information is customizable, the default format is the following:

Login username;Action (1 delete 0= no action).

The following is an example of how a single line of the csv file looks like:

user1;1

 

Users roles assignments

This option is used to upload a file in order to assign roles to users within a specific domain.

 

The order of the information is customizable, the default format is the following:

Login username;Role;Domain code;(1 assign, 2 unassign, 0= no action).

user1;admin;domain_code;1
