Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Online Editor authoring tool allows authors to edit an existing LO, either published from eXact Packager or created selecting a content template among the available ones in the "Create New LO " page. In both cases, please note that each content template is different (for more details, refer to the user manual of the content models in use).  After a general presentation of the main feature provided by the Online Editor an additional example regarding the default page composer template is reported as well.

In order to enter in the Online Editor to edit an already existing LO, the author should to search the content in the DR and select it. In the bottom side of the page the "Edit" button will be available within the "Edit with Online Editor" box. The "edit with online editor" box provides as well information about the content model and the relative content model version which has been used to create that LO.

Once entered the Online Editor, the main area is composed by the following sections:

1. Working Mode - by using the drop down menu on the upper right hand corner, it is possible to define the working modality. For each of the available options (Novice, Advanced, Expert) it is possible to display and use a different set of properties and functionalities.

2. LO Commands - on the right hand side corner, there is a set of buttons to use for processing some different actions on the selected material:

Note: if a user adds an element that is not assigned to any samples, only the elements with an empty structure will be listed. If a user adds a structural element (i.e. a Chapter) a message will inform the user that he/she' is going to add a structural element, therefore it will be just possible to add the element Title.

By double clicking on any item within the LO tree structure, the selected item is displayed in edit mode in the central area of the window. The edit area will be different according to the selected item.

By selecting an asset (text, audio, media) inside the edit area it is possible to edit the element content
